2011 Toy Run Information
The 20th Annual Haywood County Motorcycle Parade and Toy Run was held on
Saturday, November 12, 2011
THANK YOU!
The starting point for this year's Run was Pisgah High School in Canton, NC for the fifth year in a row. We terminated for the 10th time at Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie. Museum Curator, Dale Walksler, invited us back for another year of fun and festivities on the Museum grounds.
1,129 bikes and approximatley 1800 individuals made the scenic Canton to Bethel To Waynesville to Maggie ride under sunny skies and mild temps. Chef Dicky King and his Cookin' Crew served up 550 lbs. of barbecue and all the fixings! Unofficial totals at this point indicate that $9,000.00 was raised in cash in addition to one full truck of toys. Proceeds of the ride are distributed through a cooperative effort of the Haywood County Department of Social Services, Haywood Christian Ministries, and the Salvation Army. Individuals seeking assistance should contact these agencies.
A massive THANK YOU! is due to principal sponsors Wheels Through Time Museum, Haywood County Law Enforcement, Pisgah High School, and General Insurance Agency.
See you for the 21st Annual Haywood County Motorcycle Parade and Toy Run on Saturday, November 10, 2012!
