Rules of the Competition

As this is the President's Bottle Award, the President is solely responsible for setting the rules for the current year. This way each elected President may continue the award or change it to reflect their personal preferences. In general, those activities that require greater member participation earn greater points. Members participate in the President's Bottle race by virtue of attending meetings, rides, and assisting in club activities. No negative outcomes are attached to anyone who chooses not to participate.

The original points system was developed by current President Cecil Yount and his brillant co-conspirator Kathy Yount over a delicious meal of barbecue at Big Mountain BBQ in West Waynesville. (This seemingly irrelevant piece of information is presented solely for the purposes of defeating historical revisionists in the coming years.) Duly elected club officers are NOT eligible for winning the President's Bottle because they should already be sufficiently motivated to participate at a high level anyway. Because the intent of the President's Bottle is to encourage participation by all club members, the previous year's winner of the President's Bottle is not eligible to win in the year following the award, thus ensuring a different winner each year. Future plans are to develop a plaque that will hold the names and years of previous winners.
